Friday Night the Tables Turned….

Tonight at a screening of Human Centipede 2 of all films I was witness to probably one of the greatest acts of theatergoer valor ever displayed in my humble opinion. During the entire film one guy laughed obnoxiously and yelled at the screen exposing us all to his insipid inner monologue. Quite a few people yelled at him and told him to shut up and use his inside voice, but he persisted throughout the entire film to most of the audience’s dismay.
What makes this different than 99% of my experiences going to films was as he left the theater some one literally hit him in the face with a soda. Now as he began to confront the guy who did it the talker then attempted to drop kick the guy who hit him in the face landing flat on his ass in the middle of the street. About this time even more theatergoers began to provoke the talker and he retreated with his tail between his legs with his friends knowing they were severely outnumbered.
As far as I am concerned this should happen more often, and it was great how the audience banded together at this individual threat to their right of a great theater going experience; but those are horror fans for you. My only complaint would probably be against the staff of the theater who let this moron go on for 90 minutes. I know we are not at the Drafthouse but I have had way too many films in Philadelphia ruined by people who just wouldn’t shut up.
I salute you guy with your cherry coke of righteousness, and hope more people will learn from your example. Stupid people who talk during films and talk on their phones should be punished and if the theater isn’t going to do it, somebody damn well should.
